今日は全く今まで出会ったことが無かった単語に

ということで名詞以外にもまたまた登場自動詞として使われる
単語みたいですが、TOEIC関連書によると名詞の意味だけを
覚えておれば良いみたいなので、その他の意味は参考までに、、、

この中でも慣用句として覚えておいたらいいかなというのが
levels the ladder of successで出世階段を上るという表現です。
日本語的感覚では階段なんでlevels the step of successとか思ってしまいそうですが
なんかちょっと違うみたいです。調べてみたら 5 steps to successみたいな感じでステップってのが一段一段のっていう意味が強いのか、具体的な数値をさす時、成功する為の５つのステップ！というように使われていて、出世という意味ではladderを使うみたいです☆

っていうか書いてて思い出したけど、ラダーって公園にある半円ラダーを思ったらあれも梯子形式ですもんね。これで覚えられたかもーーー
画像検索したら半円ラダーで全然出てこなかった（汗）どんなんか分からん人はうんていの半円型のものです。グリーンとかブルーの。。。
