おもひでぽろぽろ①
昨日、部屋の整理をしておりましたら懐かしや高校生時代に行ったアメリカ短期留学（２週間ちょい）の時の日記（クラスでの宿題）を見つけました。読んでたらめっちゃ笑えます。ある意味泣けます。恥を忍んで公開！

今日の朝はとてもよい！空気が新鮮！昨日ちょっと寂しかったよだって英語が分からんから。でもホストファミリーは優しい。で、HFの犬たちはめっちゃ可愛くて賢いよ。で庭がめちゃでかい！トランポリンとプールあるねん。
なんか日本語に直すだけで、意味の分からん文章、、、しっかりしてくれ高１の私。。。
わかるかな〜このへんちくりんな英語。多分、、、
I enjoyed fresh air this morning. I felt little bit lonely yesterday cause i was not able to understand and communicate in English well. But my host family was very nice to make me feel ok about this situation. I really appreciate their kindness. Not to forget, I thank their dogs as much as i thank my host family. one thing! i was really impressed by their huge yard. this is american home just as i have imagined to be.
とか言いたかったのかな、、、とおぽもいます。はじゅかし、、、（笑）
英語ももっと勉強せんとダメですな、、、

新しい単語①〜750レベル〜
今日は普通にわからんかった単語（汗）
Scarce 形容詞：「不足している、まれな、珍しい」この単語はscarcely
副詞：ほとんど～ない、やっと、辛うじて、とても～ないと混同しやすいと思います。でもでも意味は全然違うので要注意！

ってことで意味は違えどもScarce単体で副詞的意味をもって用いられる場合があってその場合にはscarcelyと同じ意味になるみたいです。

2 to stay away; avoid.
make oneself scarce 「姿を消す」という表現、意味があるので合わせて覚えるといいですね。意味違うからー
因に画像を探していたらカモフラージュ的な虫さんたちの絵が出てきたのでそういう意味での姿を消すとしても用いられるみたいですねーーー

Bloc Party
Last nite i was so happy to find out Cat Power will be on her Japan tour!
BUT even if they participated in many shows in Japan such as Summer Sonic, Fuji Rock and so on I never had a chance to see them live so this time i mite be able to go to their show in Osaka, Club Quattro Shinsaibashi.
The band name is YES Bloc Party!
My old co-workers favorite and i could care less about them before but now i like their sound.

単語みたいですが、TOEIC関連書によると名詞の意味だけを
覚えておれば良いみたいなので、その他の意味は参考までに、、、

この中でも慣用句として覚えておいたらいいかなというのが
levels the ladder of successで出世階段を上るという表現です。
日本語的感覚では階段なんでlevels the step of successとか思ってしまいそうですが
なんかちょっと違うみたいです。調べてみたら 5 steps to successみたいな感じでステップってのが一段一段のっていう意味が強いのか、具体的な数値をさす時、成功する為の５つのステップ！というように使われていて、出世という意味ではladderを使うみたいです☆
っていうか書いてて思い出したけど、ラダーって公園にある半円ラダーを思ったらあれも梯子形式ですもんね。これで覚えられたかもーーー
画像検索したら半円ラダーで全然出てこなかった（汗）どんなんか分からん人はうんていの半円型のものです。グリーンとかブルーの。。。

「鋼鉄、はがね」ってことです。
しかし一般的な名詞以外に、「意思を固める」という動詞での意味があるそうで。
英語辞書で調べたらさらに形容詞もあるみたいで、「鋼のような」という意味もあるそうです。TOEICでは名詞と動詞の意味がわかったらいいのか、参考書にはその２つがのっていました。今回は先日のIntransitiveでは無く、trつまりtransitive他動詞ってことですね。
ということは必然的に第ニ文型（S＋V＋O）等をとる動詞、目的語を伴う動詞です。
意思を固める以外に英語の辞書↓をみると、「何かを強くする」ってことなのでスチールが固いものだから、それが動詞になっても何かを強くするっていう意味になるのかな？と思います。因に同じ発音をするこれまた動詞に{Steal:盗む}があるのでリスニングではコンテンツ（前後関係）で推測しないとダメですね！

私だけかもしれまへんが、Fareって聞いたら
「〜代」っていう意味でしかつこたこと無かったんですが、
動詞として「やっていく、暮らす」という意味があるそうです。
因に英語の辞書では、下記のように記されています。
